Aquamarine is primarily found in Brazil, Nigeria and Zambia. Its color should be a cool sea blue (not too light, not too green) and it works well as a larger oval or rectangular gem. Most aquamarines are heated to enhance their color. Like its cousin the emerald, aquamarine can easily be an heirloom gem with the proper care.
